Then, as if he could read my thoughts, just the way he did on Bali, with his muscular arms and body a blanket on mine, he embraced me tighter, then tighter still, until finally we became one.”
But despite it, she saw something deep in Tristan’s eyes. Something that told her he was still hiding something. Something she sensed but he did not reveal.
“Something inside told me that my relationship with Tristan could never be completely pure. It would be filled with the passion it already had but it would be complicated with forces that I was not yet aware of. Something I could not compete with. It would be strong and powerful and I feared in the end that it would take him from me.”
She was torn. Torn between her love for someone and the knowledge that there was something she did not yet understand.
