olly Troy’s mind is a complex maze of myth and reality, multiple personalities vying for time in the spotlight. As an artist, she is creative and compelling. As a witness, she is painfully unreliable, unsure of even which person she was the night of the murder. Even Holly can’t be sure of her own innocence. Homicide detective Orson Cheever never thought he would find himself playing psychologist to a Greek goddess in a modern-day murder investigation, but many of Holly’s personalities come straight from classical mythology, from Cronos and Pandora to the Fates. As Cheever attempts to unravel truth from myth, he learns that there is even more to Holly than meets the eye. One personality in particular–that of a five-year-old girl–hits a little too close to home, and Cheever is forced to finally pull back the dark curtains of his own past in order to uncover the truth in this psychological thriller.

Rage Against The Machine – XX (20th Anniversary Edition) [Explicit] by Rage Against The Machine
Genre(s): Rock & Hard Metal, Rock
From an Amazon Top Reviewer:
n 1992 Rage Against The Machine released their self-titled debut album which would go onto inspire and influence and entire generation of bands and people. Muse’s guitar virtuoso Matt Bellamy has often said that seeing Rage Against The machine perform at the 1996 Reading Festival was the moment he knew he wanted to be in a band. It’s an album full of powerful political themes provided by the rap vocals of Zack de la Rocha, incendiary riffs from the brilliant Tom Morello who makes the strangest sounds from his guitar, at times it can sound like a turntable as well as being backed by a powerful rhythm section of Bassist Tim Commerford and Drummer Brad Wilk. It is an album that has stood the test of time and was heavily influenced by the likes of Public Enemy, The Clash, the Beastie Boys as well as both Tom Morello and Tim Commerford having a love for Canadian Prog rockers Rush.
Twenty years on and the album gets the real deluxe treatment available in a variety of formats from a basic re-mastered edition to an ultimate 5 disc edition. It probably depends on the level that Rage mean to you as to which edition you want. If you are a collector it’s the deluxe box set edition you will want. It’s packed to the brim including of course the original album re-mastered as well as the vinyl version of the original album. Out of all the ten tracks on the album there is no filer from the opening track “Bombtrack” to the explosive climax of “Freedom” and everything in between including guest spots from Tool’s Maynard James Keenan and Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins on the excellent “Know Your Enemy”.
Also included are all the bands original demos that would go onto form the main album, as a Rage fan these are a vital inclusion and include tracks that could have easily gone onto make the album such as the brilliant “Darkness OF Greed” with its heavy powerful chorus and the Beastie Boys style track “Auto Logic”. The second DVD in the set which includes the band’s first ever live performance from 1991 which is basically a one camera shot of the band performing, it finishes with “Freedom” and then wisely goes straight to a 1994 performance of the same song from the Pinkpop festival in front of 60,000 people as well including various live performances of songs from 1992 up to 1994, some of are of better quality than others. On the first DVD the band have included the Finsbury Park concert from 2010, which was a free show to reward the fans for helping get “Killing In The name” to the U.K number one spot at the expense of the X-Factor. It was seen as a victory for the people who had grown tired of reality TV dominating the charts. If you already own the DVD “Rage Against The Machine” then a lot of the content on the first DVD will be familiar to you as it includes all the live performances that were on that DVD which has the band playing at various festivals including Reading festival, Rock Am Ring and Pink Pop. It covers the band live from 1994 to 1997 including tracks from follow up album “Evil Empire”. Also included are all the music videos that were also included on that DVD but includes six extra videos as the videos from third and fourth albums “The Battle of Los Angeles” and covers album “Renegades” are included to bring it up to date.
This is the most comprehensive Rage Against The Machine collection there is and whilst it might be a 20th anniversary edition of the first album it includes a lot more material that collectors will want to have. There’s a booklet and poster included in the box set too. If you are an obsessive Rage against The Machine fan then you will want the Deluxe 5 disc edition, if you are not there is plenty of other versions here to choose from of one of the most important albums ever released.
