randomly stumbled upon Pendulum a few years ago and ended up buying their album “Hold Your Colour” because of that ridiculously awesome track “Slam.” I didn’t really keep up on them, however. But as soon as I saw that they had a new album out, I bought it without thinking.
Although this album is a little different than previous albums (because of the addition of vocals and full lyrics), I really think it works and it’s pretty damn good. There are still some slam-tastic tracks that have ONLY the pure, hard-hitting, kick-ass music that Pendulum is known for. But it also has a few tracks that bleed into metal and other genres, and the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I think that’s why they called this album “Immersion,” because they are getting a little bit more into vocals and other elements that are more or less found in “popular” music today.
That being said, if you’re already Pendulum fan, BUY IT. If you need some kick-ass music to work out to or just feed like a bad-ass mofo, then buy this too! It sounds great when you’re running the track, lifting weights, or just cruising through the streets pretending to be a futuristic assassin…or maybe you’re a stay-at-home mom and you have a big house to clean every other weekend – this album will put you into the zone and slowly “immerse” you into the realm of PENDULUM.
