o you like scrambled word puzzles? Are you a math whiz? At first glance, WordBuck$ may look like a simple word game, but the twist is that language skills aren’t enough, you need to apply your math skills too! With WordBuck$, teachers, parent and students can stretch their mental muscles, unscrambling letters to make a word and adding up letters to make sums.
In WordBuck$ each letter in the alphabet is assigned a dollar value based on its position in the alphabet. The letter A is worth $1 and Z is worth $26. The goal is to make as many $50 words as you can from a set of seven letters. The quicker you can solve the puzzles, the better your score. There are five increasingly difficult levels. If you like the pressure, limit the time for each guess to 30 seconds. If you just want to relax and enjoy the puzzle, you can turn the timer off.
The Free version of WordBuck$ includes 50 puzzles and uses everyday words. If you’re ready for another challenge, you can upgrade to the full version, which has a much expanded word list, including more challenging words and competitive, “Vegas”-style scoring. You rack up dollars solving puzzles, but you also have to pay for hints and you are penalized for bad guesses. You will be able to rank yourself with the best by posting your scores on Amazon’s Game Circle. Of course, you can choose to use the same scoring used in the Free version and just kick back and enjoy!
