The Heart Chronicles: 12 Miraculous Cardiology Stories of Resilience and Triumph from the Front Lines
Your heart is the most dynamic organ in your body… What’s at stake when things go wrong?
Your heart beats 100,000 times a day.
While your brain is asleep and everything else gets to rest, your heart keeps going… and it will do that even if it’s one day transplanted into another human body.
Modern medicine has allowed us to isolate the heart and remove it from a human donor, freeze it, and transplant it into the body of someone else who needs it… and as soon as it’s warm and restarted, it will get back up to speed and keep another body alive.
Dr. Abraham Ariyo is very familiar with this process—and he’s fascinated by it… but what truly piques his interest is the human experience behind every heart.
Affectionately known as “America’s Heartmaster,” Dr. Ariyo is dedicated to his work in cardiology and how it affects his patients. Through them, he sees the resilience of the human spirit.
This enlightening memoir takes an unusual approach, focusing less on his personal narrative and more on his encounters with his patients over a 30-year period.
Each chapter explores a different story, and you’re invited to get to know each patient and recognize the humanity and resilience in each one—just as Dr. Ariyo did.
Join America’s Heartmaster on this profound journey into the human experience, as told through the lens of a man who’s committed to caring for each of his patients… and in doing so, uncover more about the phenomenal capabilities of the human heart.
Discover the profoundly human experience shared by patient and doctor, and unlock the incredible power of the human heart
