Written Off: The Journey Begins – The Approved in Christ Series Book One
As a child, Lisa Phillips already endured her parent’s divorce. Then later, she endured the unthinkable. She was rejected by her own mother, who had relapsed back into the chaos of untreated mental illness. As Lisa watches her mother’s temperament descend into unmanaged anger, bitterness, revenge, and destructive behaviors, Lisa’s autonomy, the right to think, feel, express, and interpret events and experiences, was stolen through emotional invalidation, scapegoating, and gaslighting.Despite the confusion, the source, and the ambiguity surrounding her mother’s hostility, unloving actions, and the lack of a grace-filled home, Lisa’s yearning to have that coveted mother-daughter relationship propels her into false coping mechanisms in an effort to win the parental blessing.
Yet beneath the wounding and forsaken status, and the ever-present gnawing soul ache for connection and belonging, Lisa feels something stirring in her spirit: a quiet whisper of hope.In Written Off – The Journey Begins, Lisa courageously opens the pages of her past and invites you into her raw, real, and redemptive story.
